This page explains what data we collect, why, who it is shared with, how long we keep it, and what you can demand from us. It also states plainly what we see of your device when we work on it.

What we collect, and when
This site never asks you to create an account. Six situations, and no more.
1. You book an appointment
Booking goes through Calendly, which collects your name, your email address and whatever you type in yourself. This reaches us so that we can arrange and honour the appointment. Calendly acts as a processor and applies its own policy.
2. You call us or write to us
We keep what is needed to answer you and follow your file: your contact details, the device concerned and what we did. Nothing more, and never for prospecting you did not ask for.
3. You ask to hear about our second-hand machines
That form collects your email address, and nothing else. It is used only to tell you when hardware comes in. Every message carries an unsubscribe link that works in one click.
4. You ask us to call you back
We collect your first name and phone number, and nothing else. They are there to call you back, nothing else. They land in our inbox, we never sell them, and you can ask us to erase them whenever you like.
5. You browse the site
Measurement runs from the moment you arrive, without waiting for your answer to the banner: Metricool counts visits — pages viewed, where you came from, your device — and Google Analytics and Google Ads measure what our ads bring in. The banner is there to switch them off.
We would rather be clear about this: that measurement is not purely anonymous. It lets Google connect your visit to an ad you clicked. That is precisely what your refusal prevents — one click on “Decline” is enough, and it holds for your later visits.
6. You leave us your details after seeing one of our ads
We tell Meta (Facebook, Instagram) that someone got in touch — so we know which ad worked. We send your IP address, your browser and, if there is one, your encrypted email address — never in plain text, and never your phone number. If you refused cookies, nothing is sent.
What we see when we work on your device
This is the most important part of this page, and most sites leave it out. Working on your device, at your home or remotely, means having access to it — and therefore, potentially, to your documents, your photos and your mail.
- We only open what the problem requires, and we tell you what we are doing while we do it.
- You type your passwords yourself. We have no need to know them and we write them down nowhere.
- We copy no personal content off your device, except for a backup or a transfer you asked for — and to the destination you chose.
- Anything we may glimpse while working is covered by strict confidentiality, with no time limit.
Remote support goes through TeamViewer. It requires your agreement for each session, it happens in front of you, and you can end it at any moment by closing the window.
Cookies and consent
On your first visit, a banner asks you to accept or refuse analytics and advertising cookies. By default, measurement runs — Metricool's as well as Google's — and the banner is there to stop it: as soon as you click “Decline”, Google Analytics and Google Ads are switched off, and they stay off on your later visits. If you ignore the banner, measurement carries on.
Only cookies strictly necessary to run and secure the site stay active, and they are not used to track you.
You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's cookies in your browser: the banner will come back on your next visit.
Why we process this data
- To call you back or answer you when you get in touch.
- To arrange and carry out the work you asked for, then invoice it.
- To tell you when a second-hand machine arrives, if you expressly asked us to.
- To understand what brings visitors to this site and measure our campaigns, so that we do not spend on advertising for nothing.
The first two purposes rest on your own approach and the pre-contractual steps it calls for, then on the contract and on our accounting obligations. Telling you about second-hand machines rests on your consent, which you may withdraw in one click. Analytics and advertising measurement rests on our legitimate interest in knowing what our ads bring in: it runs by default, and your refusal stops it — that is what the banner is for.
Who this data is shared with
We sell no data and pass none to anyone for commercial purposes. Only the providers our work requires are involved:
- Google (Analytics, Ads, Tag Manager) — analytics and advertising.
- Calendly — appointment booking.
- TeamViewer — remote support, with your agreement.
- Infomaniak — hosting of this site, in Switzerland.
- Mac Repair, our approved partner, when a hardware repair is entrusted to them: they receive what the repair requires, and nothing else.
- Metricool — website audience measurement.
- Meta (Facebook, Instagram) — measurement of our ads.
Transfers outside Switzerland. Google, Calendly, TeamViewer, Metricool and Meta process data outside Switzerland, notably in the United States and in the European Union. Those transfers rely on the contractual safeguards those providers put in place. The site itself is hosted in Switzerland.
How long we keep it
Enquiries and appointment details are kept for 24 months from the last contact, then deleted. Documents required for accounting are kept for 10 years, as Swiss law requires. Your address on the second-hand list stays until you unsubscribe. Analytics data follows the retention set in Google Analytics.
Your rights
At any time you may ask us for:
- access to the data we hold about you;
- correction of anything inaccurate;
- its deletion;
- that we stop processing it, or withdrawal of your consent.
One address for all of this: hello@mac-sos.ch. We answer within a reasonable time and free of charge. You may also contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
Security
The site is served over HTTPS and we apply technical and organisational measures suited to the sensitivity of the data concerned. No transmission over the internet is guaranteed 100% secure, however.
Links to other sites
This site points to third-party services (booking, remote support). Once you are on those sites, their policy applies, not ours.
Changes
We may update this page. The last-updated date appears at the top; that is the one that counts.
Governing law
Swiss law applies, in particular the Federal Act on Data Protection. The place of jurisdiction is Geneva.
