Your questions, before you even call
I’ve deleted some photos. Are they gone for good?
Not so fast: between the bin, the "Recently Deleted" album, iCloud and a possible backup, there are usually several doors left. The less you touch the machine until then, the better.
I have a backup drive, somewhere, in a drawer.
That’s a start! We check it, make sure it’s current and readable, and put it back on duty — or tell you honestly if it needs replacing.
Isn’t iCloud enough as a backup?
iCloud synchronises more than it backs up: a photo deleted here disappears everywhere. It’s precious, but it doesn’t replace a backup. The two together — now you can sleep soundly.
