Learning your Mac,at home and at your pace
There are no silly questions, only failed explanations. Training at home starts from what you want to do — not from a syllabus — and moves at your speed.
What is actually going on
Group courses go too fast for some and too slowly for others, and above all they happen on a computer that is not yours. At home we work on your Mac, with your photos, your mail and your habits.
A session therefore looks nothing like a lesson: we note together what is holding you up, we sort it out, and we repeat the action until it belongs to you. Whatever we cover is written down so you can come back to it.
What we do
- Start from what you actually doThe grandchildren’s photos, the newspaper online, the shopping list, the tax return. We begin with what matters to you.
- Undo the mysteriesA voice that suddenly reads everything on screen, a window that keeps returning, a setting flipped by accident: we explain the why, not just the how.
- Leave something written behindWhat we covered stays with you, on paper or in a document, so you do not have to rely on memory.
- Come back when neededOne session is sometimes enough. Otherwise we go in small steps, never rushing you.
Before we arrive
What helps
- Note your questions in the days before the session, even the ones that seem trivial.
- Set aside a quiet time: one hour of attention beats three with the phone ringing.
What is better avoided
- Letting someone “do it for you” during the session: the action only sticks if you perform it.
- Trying to cover everything at once — two or three things properly learnt beat a list skimmed through.
Your questions
I am a complete beginner, is that a problem?
Not at all — it is the most common request. We take the time it takes, without jargon.
Can this be done remotely?
Yes for many subjects, with your permission and your screen shared. You keep control from start to finish.
