Apple Technician, for the people of Geneva.
You go to our clients, private individuals, to fix whatever has stopped working on their Mac, iPhone or iPad, and you explain what you are doing. You are the person they are waiting for, and the one they will ask for again.
What you’ll do
- Troubleshoot, on site or remotelyThe Mac that crawls, the iPhone that won’t update, the iPad that has forgotten its passcode. You find the cause, you fix it, and you explain what you did.
- Set up a new deviceUnbox it, set it up, and move across everything that was on the old one: photos, emails, passwords. Nothing gets lost along the way.
- Put things back in orderA locked Apple Account, full iCloud storage, backups that have stopped running. You tidy up, and leave simple notes behind.
- Make everything around it workWi-Fi that won’t reach from one room to the next, a printer that no longer responds, the internet provider’s router.
- Prepare machines in the workshopThe ones we deliver, and the second-hand ones: tested, erased and reinstalled from scratch.
- Organise repairsWhen hardware has to go to the Apple Authorised Service Provider, you arrange the collection, and set everything back up when it returns.
A day with us
In the morning, your day is ready.
Our tools are built in-house: every request, every appointment and every hour has its place. You know where you are going, and why.
You go to people’s homes.
In Geneva and the countryside, from Versoix to Chancy, or remotely when the issue allows. You fix it, and you explain.
Nothing gets lost.
What’s done is recorded, what’s left is visible: whoever comes after you knows everything. And if an idea would save the whole team time, you suggest it.
The role
You work at our clients’ homes, in Geneva and the countryside, and in the workshop. A driving licence is required: a car when needed, otherwise public transport, as we favour sustainable travel. Apple Certified Support Professional certification is a plus; if you don’t have it, we will put you through it in your first few months. Any other certification counts too.
In short
1201 Geneva, and at our clients’
another language is a plus
The technical minimum
- Mac, iPhone and iPadAt your fingertips: settings, updates, migration, troubleshooting.
- Apple Account and iCloudForgotten sign-in details, two-factor authentication, Family Sharing, full storage.
- Photos and backupsiCloud Photos, Time Machine, an external drive, and a successful restore.
- EmailA mailbox to set up with the usual providers, on all of the client’s devices.
- The connected homeThe internet provider’s router, Wi-Fi that won’t reach from one room to the next, a printer that no longer responds.
- At least three years of Apple supportIn a store, in a workshop or at clients’ homes.
A plus, not a requirement: an Apple certification, time at an Apple Store, Windows PCs (some clients have one too), a language other than French and English.
Who we’re looking for
Someone with patience: you explain twice if need be, without ever making anyone feel their question is silly.
Someone reliable: on time for appointments, and who lets people know when that isn’t possible. You go into people’s homes, and there, you are Mac SOS.
Someone straightforward: you tell your manager what’s wrong before the client finds out.
Your questions, before you even write
I’m not Apple certified.
It’s a plus, not a condition. If you don’t have it, we will put you through Apple Certified Support Professional in your first few months.
Do I need a car?
A driving licence, yes. A car when needed, otherwise public transport: we favour sustainable travel.
I’ve worked at an Apple Store. Does that count?
A great deal. That’s where you learn to explain rather than impress, and where you see more situations in a day than elsewhere in a month.
I know Windows too.
All the better: some clients have a PC alongside their Mac. It’s a plus.
What about the salary?
We discuss it in person, at the first meeting.
When would I start?
The date is to be agreed together. Let us know your availability in your email.
